Membership Help

How to join a Ching Ching Cellar membership

Joining is simple. If you are new to the club, start by sending your enquiry through the contact page and tell us what kind of bottles you enjoy, how often you want to receive them, and where the box should be delivered. We use that information to match you with a monthly selection that suits your taste and budget.

Once your membership is confirmed, our team will guide you through the next steps so your first box reaches you without fuss. If you are setting this up for a household, a gift, or a small office, mention it early so we can make sure the delivery details and billing notes are correct.

  • Choose a subscription style that suits your drinking habits.
  • Share your delivery address, contact details, and any access notes.
  • Tell us if you prefer wine, bubbly, or a mix of both.
  • Look out for your confirmation and first dispatch details.

Changing your delivery details or membership type

If you move home, change offices, or need a different delivery area, let us know before the next box is packed. That helps us avoid missed deliveries and keeps your monthly selection on schedule. We deliver across South Africa, including Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Paarl, Somerset West, and Constantia.

You can also ask to adjust the style of your subscription if your taste changes. Some members prefer more local reds in winter, while others want lighter sparkling bottles for summer entertaining. If you need a one-off change for a birthday, wedding, or corporate function, just say so and we will see what can be arranged.

  • Update your delivery address before the next dispatch date.
  • Tell us if access instructions have changed at your building or estate.
  • Ask to adjust wine, bubbly, or mixed selections.
  • Request a special box for an event or gift when needed.

Pausing a subscription for travel, budget, or storage

If you are away for a few weeks, managing costs, or simply have enough bottles at home, pausing your membership may be the easiest option. Please contact us as early as possible before the next cycle so we can check what is due to be packed and shipped. This is especially useful during holiday periods or when load shedding and travel plans make receiving parcels less convenient.

When you pause, we will confirm the date your pause starts and whether any box already in motion can still be changed. If you live near the coast, a short pause can also help when humidity is high and you want to keep storage conditions steady.

  • Send your pause request before the packing window closes.
  • Tell us whether you want to pause for one month or longer.
  • Check if any dispatch has already been prepared.
  • Keep your delivery details active so reactivation is quick.

If your box is late, damaged, or missing

On the rare occasion that a parcel arrives late, damaged, or not at all, let us know through the contact page and include your full name, delivery area, and the date you expected the box. That makes it much easier for our logistics team to trace the order and sort things out quickly.

Please check your delivery address carefully first, especially if you live in a gated estate, apartment block, or office park with restricted access. In some suburbs a driver may need a gate code, reception instructions, or a delivery window to get the parcel through first time.

  • Confirm your address and access notes before reporting a missing box.
  • Keep any damaged packaging in case we need photos.
  • Let us know the delivery area and expected date.
  • Tell us if a guardhouse, receptionist, or neighbour received it.

How tasting evenings and add-on events work

Membership can include more than monthly deliveries. If you want to attend one of our tasting evenings in Franschhoek, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Johannesburg, or Durban, check the event details and send your enquiry early. Places can fill up fast, especially for seasonal tastings, bubbly masterclasses, and food pairing dinners.

Members often use these events to learn more about South African wines, meet other club members, and try bottles they may not have picked for themselves. We also host private tastings, corporate events, birthday evenings, engagement bubbly nights, and cellar team building sessions for groups that want a more personal experience.

  • Ask about upcoming member events when you contact us.
  • Book early for popular dates and weekend sessions.
  • Request group options for work, family, or special celebrations.
  • Bring your questions, because our tastings are meant to be practical and relaxed.

Who handles support at Ching Ching Cellar

Our Franschhoek team handles membership support from first enquiry to delivery follow-up. Anika van der Merwe manages club membership, Siyabonga Dlamini coordinates tasting events, Megan Jacobs leads wine selection, Thabo Nkosi oversees logistics and delivery, Leandri Botha looks after customer experience, and Yusuf Daniels edits the Cellar Journal. Lwazi Mthembu is our managing director and keeps the whole operation pointed in the right direction.

If you are unsure what to ask, send one clear message through the contact page and mention what you need changed. We will take it from there and get back to you with the next step. It is often quicker than trying to sort it out later after the box has already been packed.
