How monthly delivery works for your tasting box
Our monthly subscription boxes are prepared in Franschhoek and sent out in scheduled delivery runs across South Africa. Once your order has been packed, the parcel moves into the courier network and you will receive the expected delivery window on your order update. Most boxes travel well, but wine and bubbly are handled with extra care so the packing is done to protect bottles from bumps and temperature changes.
Delivery timing can vary by town and by how busy the courier lanes are that week. Areas close to our base such as Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Somerset West and Constantia are usually quicker than longer routes to Johannesburg or Durban. If there is load-shedding in the logistics chain or road delays near major depots, that can add a day or two. We keep the process simple and let you know when the box is on its way.
Where we deliver across South Africa
We deliver tasting boxes to most main centres and many surrounding suburbs in South Africa. The most common delivery areas include Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Johannesburg, Durban, Paarl, Somerset West and Constantia. If you live in a smaller town nearby, you can still check delivery cover through the enquiry form on our contact page.
- Western Cape: Franschhoek, Stellenbosch, Cape Town, Paarl, Somerset West and Constantia
- Gauteng: Johannesburg and surrounding delivery routes
- KwaZulu-Natal: Durban and nearby suburbs
For address checks, please make sure your suburb, postal code and unit number are correct. A missing gate code or flat number can hold up delivery, especially in busy residential areas and gated estates.
What to do when your box arrives
When your parcel arrives, please take it in as soon as possible and keep it out of direct sun. Wine and bubbly do best in a cool room, away from heaters and windows. If you are not home, ask someone at the address to receive it for you so the bottles do not sit in the heat, especially on coastal routes where humidity can be high.
- Check that the box is sealed and dry on the outside
- Open it carefully and inspect the bottles for damage
- Store bottles upright if they will be opened soon, or on their side if you are laying them down for later
- Chill sparkling bottles before serving, ideally for a few hours
If your box is part of a tasting evening or club meet-up, keep the contents in the original packaging until the session starts. That helps with correct serving order and avoids mix-ups when several members are tasting together.
If your delivery is delayed or missing
Sometimes a parcel gets delayed in transit, especially during peak courier periods, public holidays or severe weather. If your box has not arrived within the expected window, first check the tracking update and confirm your delivery address. A small typo in a street name or suburb can send a parcel to the wrong depot.
If the update still does not make sense, send your details through the enquiry form on our contact page. Include your name, order date, delivery suburb and any tracking note you received. That allows us to trace the box faster and come back to you with the next step. We will also advise if the courier needs access instructions, for example a security counter, estate gate, or a second contact on the property.
Receiving a box at work, home or an event venue
Many members prefer delivery to home, while others ask for parcels to be sent to a workplace or event venue. Both options can work well, but the address must be able to receive wine deliveries on the day. If your office has strict parcel rules or a shared reception area, please let us know so the handover is smooth.
For tasting evenings, corporate functions, birthday tastings and food pairing dinners, the delivery location should have safe storage and a person on-site to sign for the box. In venues around Franschhoek or Stellenbosch, this is usually straightforward. In larger cities such as Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, it helps to confirm the receiving contact before the delivery date.
Tips to keep your delivery on schedule
A few small checks can save time and keep your tasting box moving on schedule. These steps matter most during busy months, school holidays and heavy rain periods when roads and depots can slow down.
- Use a street address that can accept daytime deliveries
- Double-check unit numbers, estate names and postal codes
- Keep your phone available in case the courier needs directions
- Tell us about access notes such as boom gates, estates or office receptions
- Collect the box promptly once it arrives
If you are ordering for a gift, event or group tasting, place the order early so there is time for routing and any last-minute address changes. That is especially useful when sending boxes between provinces or to remote suburbs where routes can take longer than expected.
